The New York Dominican Officers Organization (NYDO) was established in August of 1993 with the intention of orieting its members, recruit to the various law enforcement agencies, create youth athletic programs, and to assist the community via workshops and the dissemination of vital information. NYDO was formed because officers of Dominican descent felt a need for representation of their culture, values, and their community. In addition, NYDO serves to enlighten our community and as a role model to our youth. |
|
Since its inception in August of 1993, the community has been very supportive of our organization because it has served as a conduit to fill a void that existed between the Dominican community and the police department. |

NYDO is composed of officers of various law enforcement agencies of the State of New York, legally incorporated as a fraternal entity. Its NYPD chapter is also recognized as a member of the Committee of Police Societies(C.O.P.S.). NYDO membership is open to all law-enforcement personnel. Civilians wishing to join us in our mission should join our Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge # 148 (recommendation Required) and take part in our diverse activities. |
